Awesome Weekend!

It’s only Sunday, but my weekend has already been so full of fun!

Friday the Hubs and I had a double date with the best and her hubby… real friends understand your dedication and instead of convincing you not to go to the gym, they just hop on in with you! We worked through our legs (quads) and then fajitas (Mexican food is my favorite). I mean, that is a pretty legit date of you ask me…

Saturday was a pretty great day too, our pups needed exercise so we took them to the dog park (it was actually only 80 degrees instead of the 95 degrees at 9am we have had). After the dog park we wanted to do cardio, but knew we were going to the INBA Natural Nationals Championship, so of course we had to get our pump on :) We focused on chest, shoulders and a little bicep.

  • Incline chest press on Smith with concentric contractions at the end.
  • Incline DB press
  • Cable Flies
  • Super set: Incline bench DB curls/Lateral raises

We then made it to the INBA National Championships! It was pretty neat to see, even though it was a really small event. I think there were only 20-25 competitors and a majority of the women were Masters or Grand-Masters class…which I have so much respect for! These women were 40+ and looked better than the average 20 year old, it was pretty ridiculous!

I also had the opportunity to watch Jodi Leigh compete, she was the only one in her class so it was pretty neat to see her on stage by herself. I have watched her work through her workouts and get leaner each week, so it was really awesome to see the end results and hard work on stage. I just have to add, she is seriously the nicest person and doesn’t look 40!!

In the end, it was a great experience to see how the show’s are run and how the women are instructed to pose. Next week…EUROPA!

To top off my Saturday, we went to Jason Mraz and Christina Perri…even better, we were on the 5th row! I am a huge CP fan and I like Jason Mraz, just never really went out of my way to listen to him. After last night, I have MAD RESPECT for the guy. He is pretty legit and a little quirky hippie, which of course I love! He had some great performances and a great band to make the experience even better

Throughout the weekend, I managed to eat pretty clean with the exception of Fajitas which was planned for and PB&J (which is a WEAKNESS). No alcohol, sugary sweets or fatty food. I woke up this morning happy and content with my choices and a little more abs popping through :)
